Hey everybody....sorry I haven't been around much; things have been pretty crazy.
The old '04 finally suffered the 'big one', the repair that would cost too much money to make sense. At 145,700 miles, I took it in to get a 'thud' in the driveshaft looked at and they confirmed the transfer case coupling was going out. Parts and labor to fix it would be $3,700 and in a car barely worth $6,000, I reluctantly decided it was time to let the old girl go. I looked at several cars as replacements including the Ford Fusion, Honda CR-V, and Subaru Outback but I kept coming back to the Santa Fe. So on September 18th, I took delivery of a brand new 2010 Santa Fe Limited in Harbor Gray Metallic. It has the 3.5 liter V6 with front wheel drive and so far, I love it.
They took everything that let the old Santa Fe down and fixed it including the lack of power, a slightly tight interior and materials quality. The only thing I can think of that is worse is the remote keyless entry range...it flat out sucks but other than that, it's superb!!
