Hi all,
Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't want to offend anyone, but, today a thought passed through my grey matter, which was, if someone can only lip read, then how can they tell when someone is speaking a foreign language... |

I would imagine that the movement of the lips would obviously be different forming words in English than it would be if the observer noticed somebody speaking
Mandarin, per se. I've actually watched this in coffee shops and whatnot. Portland has a fairly considerable Russian population and just by watching their
lips move it's clear that it's not English. My opinion...for what it's worth.
