Here's a brief synopsis of my experience with this new dealership:
We went in to see if I could trade in my 2001 Honda Accord on a Santa Fe. We already own one and love it, so decided we'd get a second one!
The deal goes the normal way, bantering back and forth until we reach an acceptable deal. "$347 a month". I can live with that; the sales manager, Ralph, tells me that the credit union they use, John Mansville, finances a minimum of 25k but we're close enough it won't be a problem. Over an hour and a half later when the finance genius can finally talk to us, the payment is up to $355 and he tries to talk us into the maintenance plan which I don't want. Before we sign the papers, he gives us the option of checking with our own Credit Union; if that doesn't work out, call and he'll redo the papers with their credit union. We called him on a Monday to say let's go with your credit. He calls me at work that afternoon to say there's a little "hiccup". The credit union will only finance 25K (heard that before...) so I have to take the maintenance plan and now my payment will be $374. I argued and left a message for the manager. No one returned my call after 5 hours so I call back. Says there's nothing he can do. During all this we have a family emergency come up that requires us to leave town, now I'm kinda stuck, either sign the papers or mess with getting my car back and I have no time to deal with this. We stop by to sign the new papers on our way out of town. No finance person is around and the manager takes nearly half an hour to find what he thinks is the right forms for us to sign. By the time we reach CA, there is a fed ex pkg with more forms to sign. Fine, we think it's all done. We get back in town and call to pick up our promotional tv (buy a car, get a tv). OH....you wanted that now?? Well, we don't have it ready. I ask if the next evening at 6:30pm is ok and am told yes, that our tv and our $650 check we were promised (as a way to try to placate us over the payment going up) would be ready. We go all the way down there and these jerks won't even let us in the showroom! The storm out the door with the tv, load it in the car and start to walk away. I ask about the check. Oh, the funding just went thru today, we can bring it out to your house tomorrow..... (HELLO!!!! we bought the car 17 days ago!!!!) Well, it's been two days and no check; no phone call, nothing. AND, my trade in has been sitting on their used car lot this whole time and is still not paid off!!! WHAT A NIGHTMARE.....and it still continues
