Copper is the best, that's why Bosch has a copper core. The platinum coating is very thin, it's there to prevent oxidation. BUT, this coating does increase resistance, making the plug SLIGHTLY less efficient. Multi-electrodes do not noticeably increase performance. Multi-electrodes just allow the spark to find the path of least resistance. It is still just a single spark though, and on a platinum plated electrode at that. NGK for YEARS has been THE plug to use on an asian import. For YEARS. Honda & Toyota have been using them since they entered the market. The NGK is chosen over Bosch because it is a better match on the asian import. You said it yourself, it costs more than the Bosch. That blows your "cheapest bid" theory.
