With both of my hyundai's it was the same symptom on teh plastic, it started to look like the paint got badly scratched, probably crazing. The it would start to flake off. Generally on teh plastic first. If it is within 3 years, or 36,000 miles, take it to the dealer and have them make an appointment with a regional manager if he wont do it. Around here, they show up once a month or so to each dealership. If you are within warranty, they will fix it. They did this on my Tiburon at 35,000 miles for me. But the paint job (the only painted teh affected areas) was not all that and it took 5 days.

When it occured again, I took it to a pro to do the spoiler and the mirrors. It was done by that evening, (some kind of super paint) and it was much better. Only like $120.

I love my Hyundai's mechaniclly, but sometimes the details fall short..
