Regardless of what the dealer says, it is not normal for a car with a normal combustion engine at 52k miles in good condition, to use a quart of oil every 3000 miles. Ask your dealer to document that in writing and then send a copy to Hyundai and ask them to confirm it.
Are you using standard motor oil or synthetic? Your oil consumption using full-synthetic may be less. I have about 43,000 miles on my 3.5L, use full-synthetic oil, and have unnoticable oil consumption at 7000 mile intervals.
